The Vanilla Alibi Roast case centers on the "Green Gold Heist of 1918."

The Front Story

In the shadows of 1918, during a period defined by wartime uncertainty and tightening government control, the Green Gold Heist became a masterclass in disappearance. Amidst the chaos of the era—where gold was being tightly regulated and even confiscated—a massive shipment of gold bullion vanished without a trace during transit.

While details of the era often focused on the "Great Gold Robbery" legends, this specific case involved a shipment that simply ceased to exist before it reached its destination. There were no sirens, no shattered windows, and no eyewitnesses. The gold, intended for "green" initiatives—vital resources to fuel the post-war economy—was diverted by a phantom syndicate. They left behind nothing but an impenetrable silence, earning the incident its infamous name: the Green Gold Heist.

What Are We Solving?

Your mission is to act as the "armchair detective" to solve three fundamental questions that have remained buried for over a century:

  • The Vanishing Point: Where was the gold intercepted? While the manifest shows it left the vault, it never arrived at the secure facility. Was it taken during transit, or was the shipment a "ghost" from the start?

  • The Inside Man: The heist required high-level security clearance and knowledge of the transit route. We are investigating the names on the original 1918 manifest to see who gained the most from the disappearance.

  • The Final Destination: The gold was never recovered and never hit the open market. We are tracking the "Vanilla Alibi"—a cover story used by the suspects to explain their sudden, unexplained wealth during the 1920s.

By analyzing the archives, you aren't just drinking coffee; you are helping to track the paper trail of the Green Gold that was stolen in 1918 and never accounted for. Your goal is to identify the syndicate behind the "alibi" and finally provide justice for the missing bullion.
