D.O.A. COLD BREW ROAST

Untitled design_edited.jpg

The D.O.A. Cold Brew Roast dives into one of the most gruesome and perplexing mysteries of the 1930s: the Mad Butcher of Kingsbury Run.

In the depths of the Great Depression, the industrial wasteland of Cleveland, Ohio, became the hunting ground for a phantom. Between 1935 and 1938, a series of horrific, dismembered remains were discovered in the sprawling shantytown known as Kingsbury Run. The perpetrator, dubbed the "Mad Butcher of Kingsbury Run" (or the Cleveland Torso Murderer), operated with a clinical, terrifying precision that baffled local law enforcement and traumatized the nation.

Despite an exhaustive investigation led by legendary crime fighter Eliot Ness, the identity of the butcher was never confirmed. Victims were often found headless, and the lack of a clear motive—beyond pure, calculated brutality—left investigators chasing ghosts through the city's smoke-filled alleys and industrial corridors. The case remains one of the most enigmatic unsolved serial killer sagas in American history.

The D.O.A. Cold Brew Roast invites you to confront the cold, hard facts of a case that has eluded justice for nearly a century. We are examining the archives to address the following:

  • The Elusive Identity: Who was the Mad Butcher? Investigators at the time suspected everyone from local transients to high-profile surgeons, but the evidence was always circumstantial. We are looking back at the original forensic files to see what modern analysis might reveal about the killer's specialized knowledge.

  • The Failure of Justice: Despite the involvement of public officials like Eliot Ness, the investigation hit constant dead ends. We are investigating whether political pressure, public panic, or structural limitations in 1930s forensics allowed the Butcher to slip away.

  • The Unsolved Pattern: Why did the killings suddenly stop in 1938? We are tracking the timeline of the Butcher’s activity against regional transit records and missing persons reports from that era to see if the killer simply moved on, or met their own end.

By analyzing the evidence in the vault, you aren't just brewing a cold cup of coffee; you are stepping into a historical investigation to finally shine a light on the shadows of Kingsbury Run.

The Brew:

This Cold Brew Blend is characterized by a harmonious balance of rich, comforting notes and bright, aromatic highlights: Primary Notes: A foundation of smooth chocolate provides a deep, luxurious mouthfeel that acts as the anchor for the blend. Secondary Notes: Sweet, buttery toffee undertones add a layer of complexity, balancing the intensity of the chocolate with a mellow, sugary warmth. Finish: Subtle floral tones lift the profile, offering an elegant, clean finish that prevents the coffee from feeling overly heavy. This combination makes for an exceptionally versatile brew, specifically engineered to shine whether served as a crisp, refreshing Cold Brew or prepared as a velvety, texturally rich Nitro coffee.
