DARK CRIME ROAST

THE SKYJACKER: November 24, 1971.

STATUS: Unsolved Cold Case

On Thanksgiving Eve, 1971, a man identifying himself as "Dan Cooper" boarded a Boeing 727 in Portland, ordered a bourbon and soda, and calmly handed the flight attendant a note stating he had a bomb in his briefcase. His demands were precise: four parachutes and $200,000 in negotiable twenty-dollar bills. After a tense landing in Seattle to collect the cash and release the passengers, the plane took off again into a blinding Pacific Northwest storm, flying low and slow toward Reno.

Somewhere between Seattle and Reno, over the rugged, pitch-black wilderness of southwest Washington, Cooper did the unthinkable. He lowered the aft stairs of the aircraft, stepped out into the freezing, 200-mile-per-hour slipstream, and plunged into a howling abyss of rain and pine trees.

He was never seen again.

Only a small, rotting bundle of his ransom money washed up on a riverbank years later, leaving the FBI with thousands of dead-end leads, a clip-on tie, and the only unsolved skyjacking in commercial aviation history.

Did he survive the terrifying jump into the wilderness, or did the forest floor become his unmarked grave?

The sky left no tracks, but the evidence file is far from empty.

Are you ready to join the Skyjacker Recon Regiment?

Punch in your Signature Premium Dark Crime passcode below, to analyze the flight path coordinates, examine the unedited FBI suspect sketches, and join the Armchair Detective Army tracking history's greatest escape artist.

The Challenge should you choose to accept it:

The FBI closed the case, but we aren't finished. Somewhere between the flight path and the Columbia River, the truth is waiting.

The Brew:

Primary Notes: A foundation of smooth chocolate provides a deep, luxurious mouthfeel that acts as the anchor for the blend.

Secondary Notes: Sweet, buttery toffee molasses and taosted oak undertones add a layer of complexity, balancing the intense sugary warmth.

Finish: Subtle floral tones lift the profile, offering an elegant, clean finish that prevents the coffee from feeling overly heavy.

This combination makes for an exceptionally versatile brew, specifically engineered to shine whether served as a crisp, refreshing Cold Brew or prepared as a velvety, texturally rich Nitro coffee.

Our Signature Premium Dark Crime Roast is as bold as a mid-air jump.

This is a heavy-bodied, smoky dark roast with deep notes of molasses and toasted oak. I

t’s a sophisticated, "black-tie" coffee for those who appreciate the finer details of a perfect heist and the grit it takes to solve it.
